The size, without the guesswork.

The 2 MB setting means at most 2,000,000 bytes, not an exactly 2 MB file. UploadFit first tries to keep the original pixels and composition while adjusting JPEG or WebP encoding quality. A smaller result is already suitable.

How to prepare your photo

  1. Choose a photo. Leave width and height on Auto to keep the full composition.
  2. Keep 2 MB selected and check the processed file size.
  3. If the requirements conflict, choose whether to keep the dimensions or allow a smaller image.

Can I reduce a 10 MB photo to 2 MB?

Often, but the result depends on its pixel count, detail, format, and acceptable quality. If encoding alone is insufficient, UploadFit asks before reducing pixels.

Is compression always lossless?

No. JPEG and WebP quality changes are lossy. PNG export preserves transparency and uses lossless encoding, so a strict limit may need a different format or smaller dimensions.
