The size, without the guesswork.

LinkedIn recommends 1584 × 396 px for a personal profile cover image, using JPG or PNG and a file smaller than 8 MB. This preset uses a strict maximum of 7,999,999 bytes. Company pages use different cover dimensions.

How to prepare your photo

  1. Choose the image for your personal profile cover.
  2. Move the wide crop and keep important content away from the profile-photo overlap and edges.
  3. Keep JPG or PNG selected, check the pixel size and file limit, then download.

Is this also the LinkedIn company banner size?

No. This page prepares a personal profile cover. Use the dimensions for your specific company-page placement instead of reusing this preset.

Why is the limit 7.999999 MB?

LinkedIn says smaller than 8 MB. UploadFit uses decimal megabytes and one byte less than 8,000,000, so the result passes a strict less-than check.
